Sex, Lies and Hockey Tape

Sex, Lies and Hockey Tape

You might get a kick out of this:

Some of my U20 players have been known to sneak into the coach's locker room where I keep my hockey equipment when I'm not around.

Why?

So they can have some fun at my expense.

And, I gotta admit, some of their tricks have been quite creative:

Grains of rice poured inside the shaft of my stick so it rattles when you shoot a puck.

A casino chip wedged between skate and insole.

Attaching a clown bulb horn to my stick with what must have taken three rolls of white hockey tape.

Anyone who has fallen "victim" to these shenanigans knows it's never personal.

Over the years, I've seen guys pull all kinds of pranks on their teammates.

Cut skate laces.

Icy Hot in the jock.

Shoe checks when eating at a restaurant.

You name it.

"Getting" a guy and watching him just fuming there never goes out of fashion.

But last week, I heard of this beer leaguer who took the whole pranking thang up a notch.

He taped a length of clear cellophane at ankle height just outside the bench door, causing a rookie to trip, faceplant the ice, and bust out a tooth or two.

Ouch.

Poor kid never saw it coming.

Meanwhile, the other guys were toppling over in laughter.

If you ask me, that was a bit of a douchebag move.

But life ain’t all rainbows and unicorns.

There's always someone stronger out to get you.

So ya better keep your head up, son.

You don’t want to get "got".

To make sure you're gon' get yours instead, head over to:
